With a style that is best described as surprisingly slick, dynamic, stylistically broad, and strong in feel, Jack prides himself in bringing his unique style to whatever musical venture he is involved in.
Having played many different genres of music, a wide range of musical influences along with a lifetime's study on his instrument, Jack believes that it is important to soak up as much music as possible for as genuine as an experience as musically possible.
With high energy, charisma and genuineness as a performer, Jack believes it is important to put on a great show night in, and night out. As a recording drummer he has worked with many different artists and is not afraid to try different ways of recording and is constantly trying new sounds and keeping up with modern studio drumming techniques.
Jack's journey has been one of pure dedication to the craft of drumming and music. Born and raised in the small town of Naracoorte, South Australia, Jack has been playing drums since day one. From raiding his fathers record collection, to his mothers' love for stage musicals, it was in his veins. His roots in Hard Rock and Progressive Metal and development as a drummer included bands such as Dream Theater, System Of A Down, Metallica and Karnivool amongst many more. He was exposed to legendary jazz drummers such as Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich thanks to his drumming tuition. Taking on formal drum lessons at 10 years old, by the time he was just 13 years old he received high achievement awards with Naracoorte Lucindale Concert Band 2 years in a row.
Studying at Westminster School in his final years of formal education, Jack received top awards for in his music studies and had shared the stage with Little River Band's Glenn Shorrock, Australian jazz legends Don Burrows, Kevin Hunt, Kym Purling and Don Rader. He also toured through Japan and the United Kingdom.
Jack is a hard working session and live performing drummer and has toured in many cities around Australia. Previous bands made Australian iTunes album charts, featuring on ESPN X-Games, regular Triple J radio play and supporting the likes of Sticky Fingers, Jebediah, Twelve Foot Ninja, Dead Letter Circus and Voyager.
As the current in-house session drummer and drum tech at Island Studios in Adelaide, Jack has been a part of many recordings ranging from Russian theatre music to latin-infused country folk. As a musician, an interesting challenge is welcomed by Jack, he enjoys stretching his musical wings and creating musical hybrids that may not be of the norm, as well as a great straight-down-the-line pop tune.
